[caption id=“attachment_5634” align=“alignright” width=“1470”] Football Fans in Training[/caption] The STFC Football in the Community Trust embark upon an exciting weekend, with them taking 24 of the Football Fans in Training group to compete against their Scottish counterparts in Edinburgh. The football 6 aside tournament has been organised for the Scottish FC Trust who engaged in the same programme last season. The Swindon lads have received a special invite along with Southampton as being the first English clubs to take part in the Healthy Eating initiative supported by Public Health. The lads have worked hard in preparation for this weekends tournament, with regular training sessions and a friendly fixture last week in Southampton. Shane Hewlett who delivered the twelve week programme at the start of the year with Jon Holloway said, ​“The lads are raring to go, and are keen to bring back some silverware from the highlands of Scotland. We are all looking forward to some entertaining football, with a great group of characters”. Jon Holloway commented ​“We have seen great anticipation and excitement from all the guys in the lead up to this weekend, and we would like to sincerely thank the Scottish Football League Trust for inviting us to the tournament”.
