Education Through Football
We’re delighted to be working closely with the English Premier League, to deliver the Premier League Primary Stars programme to primary schools all over Swindon.
Premier League Primary Stars uses the appeal of the Premier League and professional football clubs to inspire children to learn, be active and develop important life skills. Professional football club staff work with your children’s teachers, to deliver fun, educational sessions in a range of subjects within local partner schools.
The project aims to inspire girls and boys aged 5 – 11 in the classroom, the playground and on the sports field. Learning is connected to the real world of sport to enthuse pupils when tackling challenging PSHE topics such as resilience, diversity, self-esteem and fair-play.
The core offer of the programme is 10 weeks of supported PE lessons where Foundation Staff work with teachers to help improve their knowledge and confidence to deliver high quality PE.
Teaching materials cover subjects such as PE, English and Maths, and focus on areas including teamwork and problem solving. Students will have opportunity to participate in competitions ranging from national football tournaments, to creative writing and reading challenges for reluctant readers.
There are also free to download exclusive videos, activity ideas, fun assemblies, worksheets, and lessons plans.
